Our baskets and mattresses are manufactured from woven steel wire mesh in accordance with SANS 1580 – “Hexagonal steel wire mesh gabions and revet mattresses”. The steel wire used to manufacture the woven mesh is zinc coated in compliance with SANS 675 – “Zinc-coated fencing wire” or Galfan coated (Zn – Al 5% alloy). The galvanised or Galfan wire is also available with an additional polymer coating of polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The PVC coating is a thickness of ≥0.48mm as required by SANS 1580).
